Shilpa Ranipeta was born and raised in Hyderabad in a Hindu family, but her exact date of birth remains undisclosed. After completing her 10th standard from Rosary Convent High School, she graduated from the Manipal Institute of Communication. Later, in 2014, she pursued a PG Diploma in Television Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism.
Shilpa's career in journalism began when she started working as a Trainee Correspondent with Outlook Business in May 2014. She then moved on to work as a financial journalist with Bloomberg TV India in April 2015.
In August 2016, Shilpa started working as a Senior Correspondent with BTVi, but after seven months, she switched to The News Minute as a Senior Correspondent in March 2017. After working there for three years, she joined CNBC TV18 as a Special Correspondent in January 2021, where she covers various topics related to consumers.
